A great companion to "The Forest of Hands and Teeth", though I did like it just slightly less for the repetition that others have also mentioned here. I liked the love story in this one a lot better than the one from the last book because I feel like Gabry has a little better sense of what she wants (in some respects) than Mary did in "Hands and Teeth". Can't wait to read the 3rd book! I think this series/saga/trilogy is just amazing.
i loved this book but now that i look back i see what others mean in the main character(gabri) always repeating her mixed feelings. over all it was really good, a lot of good surprises but but you know who wouldnt have expected something to go wrong in the beginning by sneaking out? just a though and my opinion, it was good, not the best book i have written, but maybe later on i would re-read this book and like it more or be more critical, idk. :)
LOVED this book! the suspense and the constant surprises that I didn't expect. A great sequel to the Forest of Hands and Teeth!
a definite improvement from the first book although i found the book somewhat predictable. I also found that the main character was very repetitive saying her feelings. You dont need to tell us EVERYTHING you feel over and over and over again, it was quite annoying. Over all it was better than the first but still not the best book to read.
This book was pretty predictable and had almost the same plot as the first ... kinda like all zombie fiction! I thougt it was pretty nerve racking and pulled off the whole zombie tension really well - just like the first. Over all: pretty scary.
I love zombie fiction. However, I had a lot of issues with this one. Firstly, it just wasn't as well written as the first book in the series, The Forest of Hands and Teeth. Characters were not developed as well and I just didn't have much sympathy for them. However, the actual plot, story and the world the author develops is very interesting and I'll still certainly read the next book (although I still hate fast zombies). Some teen fiction reads well for adults (i.e. Harry Potter, the Hunger Games series), but this not so much. I got very annoyed by page after page of teen angst, longing, and over-blown descriptions of almost-kisses and that kind of thing. Bring on the Zombies!!!!
Soooooooooo good I wonder where Carrie Ryan gets the ideas for these books.
I must say I did not enjoy this book at all, mostly because I found our protagonist Gabry so annoying! I was glad to turn the last page. First person narrative can be really hard to pull off and while the first person voice of 'A Forest of Hands and Teeth" was irritating at times as well, the overall emotion captured made up for it and in my opinion the sequel fails to capture that same emotion that made the first book in this series (is it even a series? This seems more of a companion novel then a sequel to me) a worthwhile read.
Great book :). Really clears up any misunderstandings from the first book. Everybody should read this book you'll love it.
A great sequel to The Forest of Hands and Teeth. Mary's daughter Gabry knows she shouldn't cross the barrier, but she succumbs to peer pressure one night to explore an old amusement park. Her life will be forever changed as a result.
sequel to forest of hands and teeth?
