History of Magic was the dullest subject on their timetable. Professor Binns, who taught it, was their only ghost teacher, and the most exciting thing that ever happened in his class was entering the room through the blackboard. Ancient and shrivelled, many people said he hadn’t noticed he was dead. He had simply got up to teach one day and left his body behind him in an armchair in front of the staff room fire; his routine had not varied in the slightest since.
Ron held it at arm’s length as it kicked out at him with it’s horny little feet; he grasped it around the ankles and turned it upside down. He raised the gnome above his head (‘Gerroff me!’) and started to swing it in great circles like a lasso. Seeing the shocked look on Harry’s face, Ron added, ‘It doesn’t hurt them , you’ve just got to make them really dizzy so they can’t find their back to their gnomeholes.’ He let go of the gnomes ankles; it flew twenty feet into the air and landed with a thud in the field over the hedge. ‘Pitiful,’ said Fred. ‘I bet I can get mine beyond that stump.’ Harry quickly learned not to feel to sorry for the gnomes. He decided just to drop the first one he caught over the hedge, but the gnome, sensing weakness, sank it’s razor sharp teeth into Harry’s finger and he had a hard job shaking it off until –‘Wow, Harry – that must have been fifty feet…’

The Second Book in the Harry Potter Series.
I heart Harry Potter been reading since I was six
All the Harry Potter books are great (except you, book #5...) and this one is no exception.
stuck reading these harry potter books... but it's worth $6!
This book is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I must have read it at least 20 times and I love it more each time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
have you seen the movie ? well the book has so much more detail its absolutly great intresting and out going great i say just great !!!!
Felt that this story was a little more developed than the previous story, especially since there are allusions to the story of Tom Riddle In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (I suppose reading it basically a month ago doesn't hurt and therefore allows one to understand how each of the first six books aid in the final book and its final plot). I felt that the story did have its element of light-heartedness in the form of Gilderoy Lockhart and the fact that he really wasn't what he said he was.
The greatest thing ever crafted by the hands of (wo)man.
Read Harry Potter series from the start then keep on reading it in order it's a magical story. :D
