I just completed re-reading To Kill A Mockingbird after nearly 43 years, the first read having been in the 8th grade in 1969. I must say that the images of the south that the author conveyed to us in theAlabama of 1935, are now re-visited in my mind by the current politics of the Republican Party in 2012. It is a sad reminder that the dangers of ignorance do not dissippate with the future. Ignorance can be fostered more readily than enlightenment.

This book is GREAT! If anyone is reading this I just wanted to tell you that this book is awesome. The beginning is a little bit boring because they try to get the setting and tell you about the background. After that though, it is a wonderful book.

This book made me laugh, made me angry, made me think and most importantly made me feel. At first I really didn't want to read this book but after my teacher "forced/coaxed" me into it I realized that she was right when she said that the simple premise held within it a tempest of complex insight into the human psyche and society. It is made even more fantastic because it is written through the eyes of a child and few things are ever as blunt and truthful as a child.

One of the best books ever written; the fact that it is still read so widely and still informs so profoundly on the nature of prejudice and respect is a true testament to the brilliant writing of Harper Lee.

We are reading for school this year and I really liked it. Despite my age I really like all the classics. I am currently reading Oliver Twist.

I just read this in school, and was surprised to find that I love this book. Scout and Jem are loveable characters, Dill is so cute and then there is Atticus who is someone to admire. This story is really neat, because it's told from the perspective of a little girl (Scout) but you as the reader can still understand the adults and their postions, even if Scout doesn't because she is a child. It has such an important story to tell. This really is a classic! It's wonderful story.

At first I thought that this book would be very dull, because it was assigned for English, but by the time I was finished, I felt so in awe... so one word: "wow". P.S. It's my new favorite book!
