Summaries
Add a SummaryMatt Cruse is a cabin boy aboard the luxury passenger airship Aurora when the ship encounters a battered hot air balloon with an unconscious man aboard. Before dying, the man claims to have seen beautiful creatures swarming in the air over an uncharted island. Not until a year later, when Matt meets the man's granddaughter, Kate de Vries, who boards the Aurora, does he learn that the man wasn't hallucinating. Pirates board, rob, and kill, and a fierce storm grounds the Aurora on the very island that Kate's grandfather spoke about--which proves to be the pirates' secret hideaway. Though readers will need to suspend disbelief of the mysterious flying creatures, which Matt and Kate call cloud cats, details of life and work aboard the ship as well as the dramatic escapade itself make this a captivating read.
Airship travel during the Victorian era. Imaginary, uplifting, fun adventure story. Suitable for all.
Matt Cruse, a cabin boy on the airship Aurora, and Kate de Vries live an adventure-filled life in a world of impossible creatures, and air pirates.

Airborn is an AMAZING book. I read it for Lit. Circles and was one of the best books I've ever read. I can't wait to read the next book, Skybreaker!!! I would definalty recommend this book, it is a great way to pass time.
Love This book! Well written and the story is extremely addictive. The series is too good to put down so read but beware the awesomeness! Addictivness rating: 10/10 funniness rating:3/10 Excitement rating:12/10 Overall:9/10
Kenneth Oppel came to my school once, last year. I started reading the book, but I got REALLY bored, no offence, but it was'nt that exciting, kind of predictable.
Good book. Steampunk world ie what would have happened if the combustion gasoline engine was never invented. I liked it a lot but I couldn't interest my 10 year old nephew.
In grade 6 our teacher was reading this book to us, he never finished. So i got it out from our school library. And finished it within two days. Kenneth Oppel is a wonderful author. This book moved just at the right pace for me. Not too fast not too slow. Very good piece of literature. I can see why it won all those awards. I would say that there is more adventure than mystery though.
This was a good book. I finshed it pretty fast and it was a little slow. It was full of mysytry and a little bit of romance. It felt like it ws being dragged on a bit, that the author just kept pilling things onto the story.
This book is amazing!
i love this book and i really hope the other books are as good. KENNETH OPPEL IS THE BEST WRITER EVER
This is one of kenneth oppels best books.
