Add a QuoteRick: F***! Why do these guys have to be black? I mean, why? No matter how we spin this thing, I'm either gonna lose the black vote or I'm gonna lose the law and order vote! Karen: You know, I think you're worrying too much. You have a lot of support in the black community. Rick: All right. If we can't duck this thing, we're gonna have to neutralize it. What we need is a picture of me pinning a medal on a black man. Bruce? The firefighter - the one that saved the camp or something - Northridge... what's his name? Bruce: He's Iraqi. Rick: He's Iraqi? Well, he looks black. Bruce: He's dark-skinned, sir, but he's Iraqi, his name's Saddam Hassif. Rick: Saddam? His name's Saddam? Oh, that's real good, Bruce. Yeah, I'm gonna pin a medal on an Iraqi named Saddam. Give yourself a raise, will you?

I loved the dialogue in this movie especially the scene with Ludacris. Brilliant writing. Loved how all the stories wove together. It made me cry, like really cry which doesn't happen really often.
Depressing racial film. No one is good in the movie.
This is a story about the lives of multiple people. In my opinion there are two main themes to this movie, characters and connections. No character is totally black or white, but neither are they grey and boring. Almost all have both good and bad qualities about their character, so you relate to them but at times you don’t always like them. The way the story loops you see a character in a situation that shows their good, while the next setting their flaws appear. In the end it’s hard to totally sympathize with the characters because they’ve all done something that’s not so nice. However you can sympathize with almost all of them because of the circumstances they find themselves in. Probably a lot like in real life. The structure of the movie is a sort of connected loop. You will see one character related to another one in ways you won’t predict. It’s a sort of neat effect although it’s not totally original. In the end it’s hard to say how this movie makes you feel. There is no real climax to the movie, no real revelation. It doesn’t have a happy ending, but I didn’t feel it was a horrible ending either. In a way you just end up where you started after you’ve followed the lives of around a dozen or more people. It’s a solid movie with good acting performances. It’s hard to criticize it. I’d recommend seeing it, it just won’t be the best movie you’ve ever seen.
Great film. Definitely deserving of best picture.
This one of my favourite movies. There are several characters who at first are separate but later you find out how they are all connected. After watching you will think about how you perceive/judge other people guaranteed.
