Add a CommentI read this book in a day and a half and it only took that long because I had to sleep!! Honestly the book has some really really funny parts that will have you laughing out loud. I was out in public and people were looking at me as I was breaking up!!! This is a great sequel to Blood Sucking Fiends and I would recommend this book to anyone.
Part 2 of Moore's Vampire Trilogy, this book is preceded by "Blood Sucking Fiends" and followed by "Bite Me." The highlight of this story is Jody and Tommy's new minion, goth-girl Abby Normal, whose diary entries are some of the funniest parts of the book. All of the quirky characters are back, including the hilarious pair of detectives who are trying to keep the rest of the police department from finding out about the vampires. Funniest Parts: Jody and Tommy's adventures with Chet, the 35-pound cat; the licentious escapades of Blue and the Animals; Tommy's to-do lists; Tommy and Abby's initial meeting at Walgreens; and The Chronicles of Abby Normal (interspersed throughout the book).
Hilarious book. I just loved Abby Normal.!(:
I didn't think anything could be funnier than Blood Sucking Fiends. This is. It iso unusual to see a sequel that is as good as the first and this is better. Humour is hard, but Morre has done it.
Light hearted. Fun. Whimsical. Gotta love Abby Normal.
Not as laugh out loud funny as "A Dirty Job", but still a good read. Abby Normal's dialogue was the bright spot in this one.
In Christopher Moore’s hilarious sequel to “Bloodsucking Fiends” all the usual lunatics are back. Newly created vampire Thomas C. Flood and his vampire girlfriend Jody are still in love but now have to face some new obstacles in their relationship. Jody has to teach Tommy about his new powers and they both have to evade several earnest vampire hunters. At least they have their very own minion, sixteen year old Abby Normal who does their errands during the daylight hours. Christopher Moore is at his best in this delightfully funny story of how being dead can really suck.
Sequel to Blood Sucking Fiends. References to A Dirty Job (that book also has references to this as well). The most hillarious book I've read from Christopher Moore so far.
