Add a CommentVery interesting stories and gives insight into ways of tackling damaged psyches.
An amazing doctor whose compassion and insight, coupled with his strong scientific background, demonstrates how and why children who are damaged emotionally early in life can re-train their brains to compensate. The stories of individual children are heart-breaking, but Dr. Perry demonstrates how the actions taken by his team can result in saving the child, their family and society as a whole. A very, very good book for anyone interested in child development, but also for anyone interested in why some people raised in horrifying circumstances live good solid lives and others turn to violent crime or to repeating the actions perpetrated on them. The compassion and lack of ego on the part of Dr. Perry are inspiring.
