I really enjoyed this retelling of "The Twelve Dancing Princesses", which has always been one of my favourite fairytales. The author did a great job of keeping the fairytale atmosphere while developing the characters and keeping the story suspenseful, even though it's a well-known story. I thought it was quite excellent and I am looking forward to trying more of this author's work.

Once again... I really like historical romance. And this is a really good book! The romance in it is not over welhming. It's realistic fantasy and not ever the top. Good job Jessica Day George!

This book was very well written, and the dialogue was witty. The conflict was very well established and I was on the edge of my seat while I was reading this. However, I was a bit dissapointed with the ending because it felt a little weak. Overall though, this was an excellent book that I would recommend to those who love fairy tales and fantasy, those who want a good romance, and those who enjoy knitting (there are knitting patterns in the back of the book ;) ).

Rich retelling of The Twelve Dancing Princesses, George deftly weaves a fresh tale of Romance, of FairyTale, of Fantasy. A modern twist on an old classic, this well done fairytale will appeal to older middle school girls who may well insist they do not like fairytales. Especially well done. Look for several sequels. 2012 Summer reading list, myths and legends, 6-8.

HI. I love this book. It's a really good retelling, and if you've just stumbled across this book, I recommend it to you and if you are looking for more good books (and movies) and are on the kiddy side ( because yes, I'm a kid), search the list 'Tin's Special Picks of 2011' or 'good movies'. Thanks! :) P.S. is this supposed to be a teen book? Aagh!!! (whoops) P.P.S. rainbowqueen123, your quote is awesome. LOL. XD P.P.P.S. Read Fairest if you haven't already done so.

A truly wonderful book! I love Hyacinth and Poppy. Hyacinth is always dropping to her knees in prayer and Poppy is so blunt. At first when i read the prologue i was like this makes no sense what so ever, but as i kept going it was making more sense. such a fantastic book.

I had had this book recommended to me by a friend and really anjoyed it. Forbidden love and magical worlds and mysteries, all make the book an exciting read. There were no plot twists or new characters, but it's a lovely story told very well.

"'Psst, Galen?' Pansy tugged on his arm. Galen leaned down. 'If Rose doesn't want you,' the little girl whispered loudly, 'you can marry me.'
