He was searching for Ambassador Spock, who is a child on Vulcan, disdained by his neighbors for his half-human nature. Twenty years later, Kirk has grown into a young troublemaker. He is inspired by Capt. Christopher Pike to fulfill his potential in Starfleet, even though he annoys his instructors. Suddenly, there is an emergency on Vulcan when the Romulan Nero comes from the future to take revenge on the Federation. The newly commissioned USS Enterprise is crewed with promising cadets like Uhura, Sulu, Chekov and even Kirk himself thanks to Leonard McCoy's medical trickery. Together, this crew will travel to the final frontier where the old legend is altered forever.

Well done addition to the Star Trek universe that in effect creates a new reality. Good casting all around, and yet it still feels true to the original while being distinctive in and of itself.
Loving tribute to originals. I've seen it like 12 times, can't wait for sequels. Pacing is a bit awkward.
I am not a huge fan of the original series or the subsequent spin-offs, but I enjoyed this movie. It was well written and full of action. It is a great blockbuster that is entertaining and smart. The main character’s backgrounds are given which is always enjoyable in movie adaptations. Obviously good wins over evil, but what else would you expect. The characters are given some depth, but not too much. The visual effects are great and the actors are well chosen. It is a little campy in some sections, but it is done purposefully. When is the sequel coming out?
I actually give this one a five star plus, considering I'm a star trek fan. It fits in most of the history of past star trek quite nicely. I also appreciate the makers of this movie holding back on the C.G. as much as possible.
A terrific way of creating a start to this fantastic series we all know and love! Very solid movie.
Awesome way to restart the stary from scratch - effect were cool, and the characters were great (Urban NAILED Bones!!!!)

More of a Star Wars guy than Star Trek, but this was a great reboot of the franchise. I actually thought ( this may be trekkie blasphemy ) that they should have NOT had Leonard Nimoy do his big cameo. A reboot should be exactly that. Cut off the old dead husk of star trek and get ready to be really entertained by this new one.
I love Star Trek, and I thought that this was an AWESOME movie!!!
