Comment
Add a CommentDoes not live up to its title. Does live up to its claim on the inside cover to be family-friendly comfort foods that come together without much effort. While the introduction acknowledges that eating frugally usually means less meat, less processed foods, and less snacks or desserts, what you actually find inside are mostly meat-based main entrees with a lot of recipes that call for ingredients like condensed soup and packages of stuffing mix or rice pilaf. There are 6 meatless main entree recipes and 50 dessert recipes. While it may be cheaper than eating out, which is why they do have a chapter dedicated to "Freezer Pleasers", it's more like dinner on a five dollar bill, not dinner on a dime.
