When he arrives on the scene, Bravo Company has thirty-nine days left on its current deployment, and it will be a long thirty-nine days for Sanborn and Eldridge whose styles do not mesh with their new leader. James' thrill of the dismantlement seems to be the ultimate goal regardless of the safety of his fellow team members, others on the scene or himself. On the other hand, Sanborn is by the books: he knows his place and duty and trusts others in the army to carry out theirs as well as he. Eldridge is an insecure soldier who is constantly worried that an error or misjudgment on his part will lead to the death of an innocent civilian or a military colleague. While the three members face their own internal issues, they have to be aware of any person at the bomb sites, some of who may be bombers themselves.

Add a CommentGood movie good story line good acting. Not great but its good.
Good, but not sure about best picture.
I was disappointed with this film. I don't know what I was expecting, but I was not blown away by it as most people were. In particular, I had a hard time making the connection between Jeremy Renner's character and his so-called addiction to war and the adrenaline-rush of working in the bomb squad. Beautifully shot, solid acting, but lacking in punch.
Pretty good, really interesting to see, didn't know about this role in the military. But I did fall asleep for a little bit.
The Hurt Locker---- DVD-2010---- This movie is very hard to watch but is well worth the time in viewing the show.----Enjoy!----RichardPaul
This is what it is like to be in the Iraq war and more specifically in a bomb (IED) disposal unit. Viewed from the perspective of three soldiers working as a unit to get through the remainder of their tour while putting their lives on the line on a daily basis. Not anything like most war movies. Whether it deserved to win Best Picture is a matter of opinion.
Way better than I thought it would be. Except for a few exceptions, I usually can't stand war films, but this was entertaining and absent of enough propaganda that I highly enjoyed it. Its no Near Dark, but still pretty great.
This was a good movie except for the inaccuracies....but it was definitely better than avatar.
Good movie...except I don't think a renegade would be on a bomb disposable unit.
BEST PICTURE & 5 other academy awards Director: Kathryn Bigelow This is the story about dis-arming bombs and other explosive devices in the heat of a combat e.g., Iraq war). Action-packed, intense, and unrelenting.
