Coarse Language: lots of it in one part
Coarse Language: Lionel encourages Berty to swear, let the anger out and especially at one point there is ALOT of swearing. Sometimes Berty will be practicing reading and break out in the F word or the S word, it's kinda weird and semi-desterbing but it's still a good movie.

Comment
Add a CommentAnyone considering watching this movie must first read Steve Luxenberg article: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/01/28/AR2011012802716.html. (Actually, everybody should read his article!) He starts his article with this: “Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, and I must have just watched another British movie based on historical events.” The article has a link to one of King George’s speeches from 1939. I couldn’t agree more with Luxenberg when he asks: why bother to do a film about historical events if those events merely become props to be reordered in search of a manipulated "truth”? Nuff said!
A movie that makes you feel for the characters, and understand them on a deeper level than just people moving through different motions and scenerios. You see the same characters and the same situation from different angles and find that though it is a long movie it is not dull in the least. On the contrary it moves quickly and efficiently without seeming hurried or rushed. An astounding movie.
A++ All the way….A must have Book in all Libraries - worth the long library wait and WORTH the cost of owing!
This movie blew me away. Rush, Firth, and Carter are some of the best English speaking actors alive. From some of Firth's recent movies, I would say he is at the top of his game. If you haven't seen it, do so when you are ready for a deep emotional rush.
Absolutely loved watching it; cinematography, actors, director, were all in sync. But strangely the second time it was a little boring...not like for example "The Kids are Alright", which I liked even more the second time.
Way Better than I expected...Very real and very entertaining...This movie DESERVED its high rating!
Quite an interesting biopic... but also a compelling story of courage. Colin Firth is really a fine actor. Not to mention Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter - all excellent. Thorough performances.
Good historical movie, 5 stars
Very dry but has some emotional tugs and humourous punches. It was a struggle to watch the whole movie about a guy uncomfortable with himself but given a great responcibility. This inside shot of the UK is scary.
great movie
