Juno, (Hera), has put Percy Jackson into a deep sleep for months, and when he wakes up the only thin he can remember is his own name: Percy Jackson, and another name: Annabeth. He manages to fight his way through Medusa's two sisters to an unexpected refuge, Camp Jupiter, the Roman Camp. When Thanatos, or Death, gets captured by Gaea, Percy Jackson, Hazel Levesque, and Frank Zhang are called on a quest to the land beyond the gods, Alaska, to break the chains of death and then return to Camp Jupiter in time to rescue it from imminent danger.

In The Son of Nuptune, Percy Jackson awoke from his 7 month sleep and doesn't remember ANYTHING from his past. Soon he arrives at Camp Jupiter, a camp for Roman demigods, and soon when Death gets captured, Percy has to on a quest. The only name he recalls from his past: Annabeth.

Percy Jackson, Hazel Levesque, and Frank Zhang go on a quest to travel to Alaska to free Thanatos (Death) from his prison and possibly retrieve the golden eagle (which was lost around 30 years ago, due to a praetor trying to fulfill the Prophecy of Seven). On their quest, they discover that Polybotes is leading the army of monsters that will attack Camp Jupiter. If Thanatos is not released by June 24, then the Giant's army will be unstoppable and completely wipe out Camp Jupiter. Of course, the three heroes also have their own personal problems. Percy, with his missing memories and a girl named Annabeth; Hazel, with her tragic past and curse; and Frank, with his limited lifeline and hidden skill.
