Graphic Novels

Annotation:An excellent graphic novel, full of teenage angst, love, suicide, death, lesbian and gay identity, growth and development. Skim is a great character, and the Tamaki cousins are fantastic.

Annotation:The adventure continues; it is good. There is a great scene about Moby Dick in this one. They meet Roque Ja while they try to take the baby rat creature (Bartleby) back. And there's more.

Annotation:Almost wordless, this graphic novel is about friendship and loss. Very sweet, super quick read. Dog goes to the library to get instruction manuals and travel books. How perfect.

Annotation:And the saga continues again. Phoney Bone up to his old tricks, manipulating and scheming to get back to Boneville - and as a rich Bone. Thorn finds out more about her heritage; grandma goes missing. Smiley Bone & Fone Bone help a lost rat creature baby. The dragons are rising; the conflict begins.

Annotation:A really great read - part fantasy, part reality. On her birthday, Lily's different selves show up: a young child, a 28 year old woman, and an old woman. Lily learns to deal with herself and as she's trying to integrate them into her reality, she's teaching them too.

Annotation:Things heat up. Thorn is Princess! And the dragons are moving.

Annotation:Great twists and turns; brings three stories together: a Chinese folktale about the Monkey King and two other stories, all neatly at the end. well done.

Annotation:This blew me away. I had no idea how great a graphic novel could be and how great Bone was. I understand why kids like it.
