EPL Picks - Best of 2011 - Teen Movies and Music

Annotation:Whether you've been with this English rock band for the last 10 years or are new to them, this album will delight and inspire you with lovely simple songs such as Lippy Kids and others with their more typically epic harmonies.

Annotation:Musical alumni of Broken Social Scene, Montreal based band The Stars feature singers Torquil Campbell and Amy Millan and an eloquent indie mix of catchy beats and gorgeous vocals. If there is ever a movie made about my life, I hope they do the soundtrack.

Annotation:British punk/folk singer Frank Turner's newest CD is fantastic mix of rocking rhythms, politically minded lyrics and beautiful melodies. Frank is spectacular to see live, if you ever get a chance.

Annotation:John is a 15 year old alien with special powers who's next on the hit list for intergalactic bounty hunters, and is played by hottie Alex Pettyfer. Dianna Agron (from Glee) is the amateur photographer John falls for. I Am Number Four is full of deliciously fun action, adventure and a little romance.

Annotation:Florence and her gut wrenching vocals are back with another transcendent CD featuring mystical pop, big beats and a gospel edge. Great for listening to late at night while the snow is falling and you can't sleep.

Annotation:This ridiculously fun movie based on the graphic novel series stars indie favourite Michael Cera as the guitarist in the band Sex Bob-omb, who meets the girl of his dreams and her cast of evil exes (including the always hilarious Jason Schwartzman).

Annotation:Bjork's newest and groundbreaking CD combines music, technology, science and nature. It includes an "app album", and she even invented new musical instruments to record it!

Annotation:Vancouver musician, blogger and activist Matt Good first had the idea to record this album, featuring extensive orchestral arrangements, a good 14 years ago. It features full bodied songs such as "Zero Orchestra" and the beautiful "Non Populus".

Annotation:This coming of age biopic about the 1970s American all girl rock band who are best known for the song "Cherry Bomb" stars Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie.

Annotation:Every frame of this Oscar nominated animated film looks like an illustrated masterpiece. Set in the 7th Century, it's the story of the creation of the illuminated Book of Kells. To help complete the magical book, Brendan must embark on a quest into an enchanted forest and survive barbarian raids.
