The Chronicles of Narnia
The Chronicles of Narnia By Lewis, C. S. (Book - 2008)

Annotation:These books are great fantasy novels; however, the reader can reach a MUCH deeper understanding of this by recognizing the unashamedly Christian parallels. That's something you wouldn't want to miss!

The Screwtape Letters
The Screwtape Letters And Screwtape Proposes A Toast By Lewis, C. S. (Book - 2009)

Annotation:This book get the reader to think about Satan's tactics in trying to lure us away from God. Lewis's outrageously clever perspective on this topic makes it all hilarious; nevertheless, the sheer devilishness of Screwtape's objective almost smothered me until I realized that God has already won the war, so we can just do our part and let Him do the rest!

Pride and Prejudice
Pride and Prejudice By Austen, Jane (Book - 2008)

Annotation:I love Jane Austen's ironic wit! She faithfully records every quirk, caprice, and foible of mankind in this classic romance. very insightful and funny!

Frankenstein
Frankenstein By Shelley, Mary Wollstonecraft (Book )

Annotation:This book, besides being a classic, really got me thinking. Can Science go too far? And has modern Science gone too far? I've only partly answered these questions, and everyone has his or her own opinion. It's just about the only "horror" book I can read!

The City of God
The City of God By Augustine (Book - 2000)

Annotation:This book, written within a few hundred years of Jesus Christ's death and resurrection, is a worthwhile read despite its demanding style. What tickled me is that Augustine's writing style is very similar to that of the Apostles in the Bible!

The Divine Comedy
The Divine Comedy By Dante Alighieri (Book - 2005)

Annotation:This book is a difficult read but a good one. Dante's complicated ababcbcdcded... rhyme sceme wowed and confused me at the same time, leaving me befuddled but inspired.

Description

This list encompasses the list of books that I think (and this is just my opinion) Everyone should read, or at least try to. For example, I quit reading Dante's Purgatorio after (I think) canto XIII, but I think it's worthwhile to read a little bit of it, to get a feel for the author's style. You may also notice that most of these books have spiritual / Christian themes. That is because I haven't just made this list because I like these books; I made this list because these are books I believe will make people think and maybe bring them closer than ever before to the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Soli Deo Gloria!
