On September 30th each year, people wear orange shirts and participate in initiatives to raise awareness about the residential school system in Canada and the impact it continues to have on Indigenous communities.
The Orange Shirt Virtual Event on Wednesday, September 30th, 2020 starting at 12:45 p.m. is Produced by Jesse Liscombe and supported by Make It Awkward and Be The Change, The Orange Shirt Society, Safe and Caring Schools & Communities, The City of Edmonton, EPL and blu Lantern Inc.
This event will be broadcast from the newly opened, revitalized EPL Stanley A. Milner Library and will feature a variety of speakers, clips, and performances to grow awareness and support for residential school survivors.
