Join Jeff Woodward, Creative Director at Onlea Enterprises, to discuss the fundamentals of online learning.
This session is part of Learn Downtown, a City of Learners speaker series offering bite-size learning opportunities downtown. Complimentary lunch will be provided in support by The Downtown Vibrancy Strategy.
Online Learning is everywhere these days: from elementary school Zoom classes, to online MBAs from major universities, to staff safety training and even makeup tutorials on TikTok. Problem is, much of it isn't very good, and it's tough to figure out which tools to use or how to apply them. This session will teach some of the foundational principles behind high quality online Learning Experience Design (LX), ways to apply those principles to your own learning or your own training, and even how they can help with building your business. You'll walk away from this session with some strategies and tools to help you create engaging, fun and meaningful content that will delight people even as they're transformed by the knowledge you share with them.
Jeff Woodward is a mentor, educator and storyteller who knows the value of lifelong learning. He worked as a chef for many years before transitioning into film & television production 15 years ago. He's worked on short films, feature films, television series and national ad campaigns and for the last several years he has helmed one of Canada's premiere online learning production studios as the Creative Director at Onlea Enterprises. Onlea, with its educational partners like UofA, has produced some of the most popular and successful online courses available today, such as Mountains 101 and Indigenous Canada. Jeff believes learning is for everyone, and if you can teach it, you can teach it online.
