Description

Join us for a conversation with Pulitzer Prize winner and bestselling author Stacy Schiff. She will explore her process for composing biographies and the craft of nonfiction writing. The conversation will be moderated by local writer and speaker Carissa Halton. 

Books will be available for purchase and signing, courtesy of Audrey's Books. 

Stacy Schiff is the author of, among others, Cleopatra: A Life, The Witches: Salem, 1692 and most recently, The Revolutionary: Samuel Adams. Schiff has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the Center for Scholars and Writers at the New York Public Library. A member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, she lives in New York City.

Carissa Halton’s essays have appeared in Today’s Parent, Alberta Views, The Globe and Mail, Postmedia newspapers as well as anthologies, and have earned her a National and Alberta Magazine Award. Her debut book, Little Yellow House: Finding Community in a Changing Neighbourhood, explores life, heartbreak and resilience in Alberta Avenue and was a finalist for the 2019 Edmonton Book Prize. Carissa is working on a historical novel.
