Lord of the Rings Week: 3D Printed Rings

1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
Stanley A. Milner (Downtown)

Description

December is all things Lord of the Rings at the Stanley A. Milner Library, and LOTR is incomplete without the "One Ring!" This 3D printed ring will rule them all as you show it off to all your minions...we mean, friends.

In this class, participants will be introduced to the basics of 3D modeling using Tinkercad and guided through the process of creating their own "One Ring". Participants will have time to develop their design and submit it to EPL for printing. EPL will 3D print each participant’s ring for free. Your "One Ring" will be available for pick up at the
Films at the Library: The Fellowship of the Ring
showing at Stanley A. Milner Library, or at your local branch.

This class will take place in-person at the Stanley A. Milner Library and is primarily designed for ages 12 and up. We welcome customers under 12 to participate but they must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver for the class.

For this class, it's recommended that:

  • Participants are comfortable typing, mousing, and navigating Windows OS files and folders.
  • Participants create a free Tinkercad account before the class.
