Join Daniela Carbajal, Outreach Coordinator at WISEST as she discusses STEM and educational inequities.
This presentation will cover long-standing barriers that have shaped the landscape of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. We will explore how systemic racism, gender biases, and social inequalities have historically limited access to education, resources, and opportunities for underrepresented groups, and how this has shaped our understanding of science. Join for a conversation about the need for greater inclusion and challenging what we consider science.
This session is part of Learn Downtown, a City of Learners speaker series offering bite-size learning opportunities downtown. A complimentary lunch will be provided.
