Description

United for Literacy believes that everyone has the right to literacy and education in a positive, safe environment that focuses on meeting each learner's unique needs. In our Homework Club program, Jr. high learners (ages 12-16) will have an opportunity to work one on one or in small groups with caring and responsive literacy volunteer tutors. Our tutors are ready to assist Jr. high students with homework and assignment completion, review curricular content or discuss how to improve in school. Our tutors will also present short Life Bites presentations that will introduce topics such as test anxiety and strategies to tackle it! School can be hard and we’re ready to help Jr. high students discover the tools and strategies that will allow them to feel more confidence and empowered in learning!

United for Literacy has partnered with Edmonton Public Libraries to make Homework Club a reality. Registration is required to attend the program and spots are limited based on our volunteer capacity. If a spot is not available upon inquiry, please request to be placed on our waitlist.
