Make Music: Electronic Jam Session - Drop-in

2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Stanley A. Milner (Downtown)

Description

The EPL Makerspace is hosting a drop-in open jam session for some fun with our sampling and beat making equipment. Customers will have the chance to learn, play and connect with other music makers of all skill levels. Bring your audio creativity and join in the chaotic fun of crafting collaborative soundscapes!

In this electronic jam session, customers can:

  • Play around with Serato Studio, a free sampling and beat making software that is perfect for beginners
  • Try out the Ableton Push 2, a powerful and dynamic beat making instrument, or the MIDI Fighter 3D, a unique finger drumming controller that can be tilted in the air to apply different effects.
  • Engage with our Pioneer DJ station, RC 505 loop station and our analog synthesizer.

To attend this class, just drop by the Studio Lab (located in the Makerspace) anytime between 2:00 - 3:30 PM the third Sunday of each month. No experience required. Add it to your calendar so you don't forget!

This class is primarily designed for adults and teens and will be delivered in person in the Makerspace at Stanley A. Milner Library. Children under 12 are welcome to participate and will need the assistance of a caregiver.

All these music tools are part of the Recording Studios service available at the Stanley A. Milner Library Makerspace. Learn more here: www.epl.ca/makerspace/studios. Contact the Makerspace if you have any questions.
