Breaking Bannock

A hands-on cooking and cultural program for Indigenous Youth, led by Chef Holly Holt (syilx okanagan, snpink’tn). Youth will learn about Indigenous Cuisine including first foods, traditional foods, modern Indigenous foods, and how to cook with them in a good way. Youth will learn the skills to cook these healthy recipes and be able to utilize them in their home. The program will be held in PÎYÊSÎW WÂSKÂHIKAN and ‘The Kitchen’ in The Stanley Milner Library. Youth will also take home a recipe book made in The Makerspace, specifically designed for the program.

Intended Audience: This program is open to Self-Declared Indigenous Youth between the ages of 15-25 years*.

Please note that this program is offered twice, on December 12 and 14. Only one registration is allowed.

If you register and cannot attend, please cancel your registration to allow others to participate.

*This program is possible by the Bill Johnston & Mary Ritchie Fund for Indigenous Youth and this is the criteria for usage.
