Food For Thought: A Culinary Book Club

6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Stanley A. Milner (Downtown)

Description

Indulge in your passion for literature and cuisine at a unique book club where we combine the love of reading with the love of food! For May, we're going to read different books based on a specific theme chosen for the month. Come ready to talk about the book you have read and get some new ideas for your own reading. We are still going to be making and eating a delicious snack inspired by the monthly theme. Don't miss out on this opportunity to bond with fellow book-lovers over a shared love of literature and food.

The May theme
is True Events. Come ready to talk about a book of your choice that is based on a true story!

To accompany our book talks we will be making and eating granola bars.

Here's some book suggestions to get you started.  All these titles are available at the Library.

  • The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot
  • In Cold Blood by Truman Capote
  • The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben (or graphic novel by Frédéric Bernard)
  • Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed
