In this hands-on design class, you will create a functional travel cribbage board with a vegan leather cover using Adobe Illustrator. The class will guide you through the entire design process, from concept to execution, emphasizing the use of vector graphics to prepare files for laser cutting. 

You will explore techniques for working with both wood and leather materials, focusing on how to manipulate Adobe Illustrator’s powerful tools to create precise designs suitable for laser cutting. Emphasis will be placed on design principles and the unique challenges of designing for laser cutting, ensuring that the final product is both functional and visually appealing.

By the end of the class, you will have:

• Gained proficiency in using Adobe Illustrator for laser cutting designs

• Customized a travel-sized cribbage board with space for peg storage

• Created a vegan leather cover to house the cribbage board, combining craft with digital design

• Learned key techniques for preparing and exporting files for laser cutting

• Understood material considerations for both wood and vegan leather in a laser cutting context

Whether you're a novice to design software or an experienced user of EPL's laser cutter, this class will equip you with the skills needed to create a beautiful, personalized, and functional travel cribbage board set with a custom leather cover - perfect for personal use or gifting.

This class is intended for ages 15 and older.

There is a $12.00 cost for this class.  All materials will be provided.  Registration is through Zeffy and starts at 9am on June 3.
