It's all marvellous fun until it goes on too long, then it isn't. Ehrenreich and Collins are the two star-crossed lovers (there's even a scene of coitus interruptus) and they are quite effective, as is Matthew Broderick as Hughes' minion.…

Rules Don't Apply is a wonderful movie. All the negative "reviews" below should tell an informed individual of such. It is heartfelt, humane, emotionally complex, emotionally risky, and aesthetically it's very beautifully made.…

While it was great watching Warren Beatty again, this movie was just another piece of evidence that one should realize "pet projects" quick enough without hesitation.
This film is only for Beatty fans of which I am not.

It seems I am the only reviewer that liked this film. I liked the story, the lighting, the costuming, the editing, the actors, the characters, the art direction. I thought it was really great. Beatty did a great job, and it was wonderful…

Interesting and likely appropriate for what the truth of what Howard Hughes was like. Not in any way certain it is meant as a real depiction of history as much as a story to portray the madness/eccentricity of Howard Hughes and how it…

A decent and watchable film, but nothing special. All the roles are more caricatures than characters, especially Hughes, who plays like an absent-minded buffoon. There's little hint of what must have been the real Howard Hughes'…

Wow! Well we knew the guy was crazy. Now we know he was a creep too. I loved having Warren back on the big screen. He's like a fine wine that only gets better with age.

As told in the extras, it is a Beatty self-indulgent project, a film on the ultra eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes and his legacy in the aviation and film industry. Unfortunately, the script was convoluted when interlaced with a…

Large cast, hard to separate fact from fiction.. Howard was a strange one. There is always an interest when the name Howard Hughes comes up. Too many scenes in the dark or limited lighting.

I quite enjoyed this movie. I just loved the American vehicles (I was an auto-mechanic by trade for sixty years) That I remember were on the roads when I first immigrated to Calgary, and many I worked on. Classic designs not like today's a…

Howard Hughes is such a larger than life character your not surprised that he ends up being a character in so many movies whether it is The Aviator, Melvin and Howard orThe Rocketeer. He is clearly the inspiration for Bruce Wayne in…

Legendary FLOP at the box office. Spend 25 million and draw 3 million?
Always respected Warren Beatty, and I LOVED "Bullworth"---but this was not even close to being relevant in 2017.
All hat: no cattle describes this stinker.
My high hopes were dashed. The plot jumps all over, it's hard to keep track of what's going on, and characters aren't compelling. I watched an hour and gave up.
