A very good, interesting, well-researched documentary! Great interviews with the organizations and the families they are trying to help! Very educational and very personal! It was very helpful to hear about the issues from the people themselves!
I love the format with the N York Journalist and the well-known female actors involved, who genuinely care and wanted to bring the various issues/goals/projects to the World's attention!
Make sure to watch the Extra sections! Very Worthwhile!

PS The only weakness is- I wish it was Subtitled throughout! Due to some accents and noisy locations, it was, at times, hard to undestand certain words!

Intense. Informative.

"Half the Sky" the book is powerful. "Half the Sky" the documentary film is extraordinary, a lot because we the viewer saw what is going on in several countries, and saw what several extraordinary and courageous women (and two men) were doing to create necessary changes. There are horrible actions being taken against women and children, but there are also beacons of hope and safe havens, too. Watch this film, be moved, and then figure out what small thing you can do that will support big change.

excellent documentary on global needs, from female circumcision to child prostitution; and how they are solving the problem as we speak!

The documentary based on the book of the same name. I would highly recommend this important film.. Everyone should have an understanding of this global situation. You get the opportunity to meet some incredible and dynamic people in this film who are really making a difference in the world... one woman at a time. So inspirational.
