Excellent course, well presented! I also learned a lot about the profound effects of the French Revolution. I particularly enjoyed the organization and balance of the material, new concepts were well defined, all of it was easy to follow and coherent.

Excellent DVD series! Dr. Suzanne Desan provides a very thorough program from the Revolution's start right before the Estates General and Louis XVI flees Versailles all the way up to Napoleon losing Waterloo and being exiled to Elba. Dr. Desan's delivery is far above par from other presenters in the Great Course series. She varies her voice and moves freely about which helps keep your attention. My husband and I learned so much, it spurred us on to more reading about that period. I highly recommend this series to anyone interested in France and this time period.

Very impressive series of lectures on an important moment in history. I knew very little about it going in and I'm in awe of how much of today's society was influenced by this time period.
