A groundbreaking work of investigative journalism, The Terror Factory: Inside the FBI's Manufactured War on Terrorism exposes how the FBI has, under the guise of engaging in counterterrorism since 9/11, built a network of more than 15,000 informants whose primary purpose is to infiltrate Muslim communities to create and facilitate phony terrorist plots so that the Bureau can then claim it is winning the war on terror.

An outgrowth of Trevor Aaronson's work as an investigative reporting fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, which culminated in an award-winning cover story in Mother Jones magazine, The Terror Factory reveals shocking information about the criminals, con men, and liars the FBI uses as paid informants--including the story of an accused murderer who has become one of the Bureau's most prolific terrorism snitches--as well as documenting the extreme methods the FBI uses to ensnare Muslims in terrorist plots, which are in reality conceived and financed by the FBI.

The book also offers unprecedented detail into how the FBI has transformed from a reactive law enforcement agency to a proactive counterterrorism organization that traps hapless individuals in manufactured terrorist plots in order to justify the $3 billion it spends every year fighting terrorism.

An excellent accounting of what the FBI has been doing, instead of what they SHOULD be doing. What they were doing? Using government funds, on government time, with fairly highly paid government salaries, to recruit and entrap hapless, usually poor, youth, who would never consider to be doing anything like the FBI is suggesting they were planning, without the FBI paying them? "Terrorist plots" among the poor youth of Liberty City, Miami? "Terrorist plots" among the poor youth of Chicago? Bruce Ivins guilty of sending weaponized Anthrax? But first it was Steven Hatfill? ? ? While the only motive for such a thing most likely would be money, and El-Hibri, owner of BioPort, subsidized to $160 million by the US government, thanks to SecDef Cohen (company is in Michigan, Cohen was senator from there, and perhaps money changed hands - - this would be prior to 9/11) and sole sourced as the single Anthrax vaccine provider to the US military; also half-owner of DynPort, situated right outside Ft. Detrick. Who hired Bruce Ivins? Who hired Steven Hatfill? John Ezzell at USAMIID. Who is and was John Ezzell? Now that is an excellent question? We do know it was Ezzell who directed Bruce Ivins to work closely with and support BioPort, who wasn't up to snuff on Anthrax. A pattern forms. [Historical Note: Then FBI director, Robert Mueller III, was first appointed to the Dept. of Justice to be their criminal division chief, by President George H.W. Bush, as the BCCI investigation was closing in on the White House, but Mueller successfully quashed it!]
