Harris' IMPERIUM and CONSPIRATA (same as LUSTRUM) should be read/heard together in that sequence. They form a complex, fascinating, and deep affecting tapestry of the subversion of the Roman Republic. Are moderate leaders always to be pushed aside by the most power-hungry and ruthless, right wing or left? Brilliantly performed by the reader. (A third novel in the series may be coming. Cicero was a pre-eminent figure. His greatest achievement came years later in his splendid philosophical works.)
