Was an interesting concept, a new dystopian society with ranks, and especially with the XVI tattoo girls are made to get when they turn 16. I found it very confusing with the various plots happening collectively. I found the characters sub par, there at one point played there part than totally gone. The best friend not caring about their ranks, her sister acting old for her age and accepting everything in stride, and her boyfriend just annoyed the heck out of me. Overall, it was ok, I feel like I should have read XVI first since they referred to it quite a bit, but with the jumping around this book did I doubt it would have made a difference.
