She witnessed a murder - and now her life is in danger . . .

Fifteen year-old Belle, though raised in a London brothel, is an innocent young girl. But when she witnesses one of the girls brutally strangled by a client, she is cast into a cruel, heartless world.

This is an excellent book with lots of intrigue, romance, determination and humour BUT it also contains coarse language, sexual content and disturbing situations. This is the first in the 'Belle' series with 'The Promise' and 'The Survivor' being part 2 and 3.

This is a very good book which leaves you waiting anxiously for the sequel which is also excellent. It certainly does make you want to keep reading from cover to cover!

I felt it became a little predictable towards the end of the book but it is a really good read. Leasley Pearse really knew what she was doing!
