Part memoir, part analytical work, this treatise details Robert Bridgestock's life as an active Mormon, his struggles with his faith, his submerging of such doubts for the sake of keeping peace with his devout family, and his eventual departure from the Church due to the abuse he suffered. After joining the Mormon Church at the age of 18, Bridgestock went on to become the youngest Mormon bishop in England and remained active in the Church for more than four decades, serving it in many capacities and deeply studying Mormon scripture and history.

Written with a lot of passion, and plenty of details. Names are named. The editing sucks - small vocabulary errors which can distract. My impression: the author sure took a long time to decide to up and leave. I thought I was a slow learner when it took me 19 years to find the courage to leave a bad marriage!
