The inspiring life and uncensored views of a veteran, patriot, former Congressman, conservative icon, and warrior for personal liberty...

Over the course of the past few decades, Allen West has had many titles bestowed on him, among them Lt. Colonel, U.S. Representative, "Dad," and Scourge of the Far Left. He rose from humble beginnings in Atlanta where his father instilled in him a code of conduct that would inform his life ever after.  Throughout his years leading troops, raising a loving family, serving as Congressman in Florida's 22nd district, and emerging as one of the most authentic voices in conservative politics, West has never compromised the core values on which he was raised: family, faith, tradition, service, honor, fiscal responsibility, courage, freedom.

Today, these values are under attack as never before, and as the far Left intensifies its assaults, few have been as vigorous as West in pushing back.  He refuses to let up, calling out an Obama administration that cares more about big government than following the Constitution, so-called black "leaders" who sell out their communities in exchange for pats on the head, and a segment of the media that sees vocal black conservatives as threats to be silenced.

Now more than ever, the American republic needs a guardian: a principled, informed conservative who understands where we came from, who can trace the philosophical roots of our faith and freedom, and who has a plan to get America back on track. West isn't afraid to speak truth to power, and in this book he'll share the experiences that shaped him and the beliefs he would die to defend.

The Democratic appetite for ever-increasing redistributionary handouts is in fact the most insidious form of slavery remaining in the world today (It is nice, for a change, to have someone who is not afraid to say the truth about the Libs!)

George Bush got snookered into going into some mosque, taking his shoes off, and then saying that Islam was a religion of peace. (I just love him!)

But my b.s. flag really went up when [Al Jazeera] said they wanted my address, to pick me up at night. They said they would send a car but wouldn’t tell me where it was going. I don’t know if it was a kidnapping attempt. But I am not going to entrust Al Jazeera with my life. I said, ‘Cancel the interview!' (And rightfully so!)

I would take these gentlemen over and let them get shot at a few times and maybe they’d have a different opinion.

[Generals] have to be very careful about blindly following a commander in chief that really does not have the best intent for our military.

[Liberal women] have been neutering American men and bringing us to the point of this incredible weakness — to let them know that we are not going to have our men become subservient. That’s what we need you to do. Because if you don’t, then the debt will continue to grow…deficits will continue to grow. (How right he is!)

This is it. I’m going to count to five again, and if you don’t give me what I want, I’m going to kill you. (And he got what he wanted, good boy!)

[Liberals] Take your message of equality of achievement. … You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America.

If Joseph Goebbels was around, he’d be very proud of the Democrat party, because they have an incredible propaganda machine.

Thomas Jefferson wrote that "freedom is lost gradually from an uninterested, uniformed people." It is through this book that Allen West provides insight into who he is, his journey and why he holds his Constitutional Conservative beliefs. His personal journey is a bit difficult to wade through, but once past West provides an interesting philosophical history lesson regarding the intentions of our founding fathers and how that relates to the current political atmosphere. Definitely a must read for those who pride themselves on understanding both sides and independent enough to take that information and decide for themselves.
