Some movies can speak on their own without spending lots of money making them. Camp X-RAY is one of them. When the world is full of so much hatred, their is still humanity around. Definitely the movie delivers a stunning plot, great direction and above all actors who played the roles so the role speak of itself. A masterpiece to watch.

A good, independent film about a Guantanamo Bay army guard and a detainee. It has an old school pace with limited scenes, but I found it to be engaging the whole time. The story was beautiful, and the acting matched perfectly. It really takes a big, complicated issue and brings it down to the human level.

I made it over halfway through this film before deciding it was fairly dull and turned it off. Good premise, Stewart is fairly good in her role, but it all got a bit tedious after awhile.

A heart-wrenching tale about post-9/11 detainment, CAMP X-RAY redeems Kristen Stewart for her past transgressions. She plays a soldier at Guantanamo Bay, working essentially as a correctional officer. She patrols the same set of cells, day in, day out, following the strict rules that prohibit contact and conversation. Under these demanding conditions, she sees the cracks in the system that allows wrongdoing to flourish and innocence to suffer. Despite its seriousness, CAMP X-RAY is never dull, not even for a moment. In fact, some points are outright funny, even in the bleakest circumstances. But don't let that distract you from the point. Drowning in metaphor, CAMP X-RAY is a film to be both examined and enjoyed. I highly recommend it.

Prisoner #451 asks prison guard Cole (played by Kristen Stewart) for Harry Potter book seven when she makes the rounds to the Guantanamo cells passing out magazines, newspapers and books to the prisoners. Guards have been told to avoid talking to prisoners and to address them only by their prisoner number. Cole (and the film audience) has no knowledge as to whether the prisoner is an Al Qaeda leader, a mere Taliban foot soldier, a random civilian caught on the wrong side of the tracks, or a foreign Islamic fighter. We do get to see though that the American soldiers have approximately zero knowledge of Afghan society or the language of the prisoners.

About a young woman wanting to do something important with her life and joins the Army. She is assigned guard duty over the jihadists in Guantanamo Bay.
She takes care of these hostile inmates and works with unfriendly team mates. Amy, they call her Blondie
becomes aware there is more good than bad in some of her charges. Amy makes friends with ALi, a detainee.
As the story progresses she must distance herself from Ali and her squad who are very aggressive about the job. The movie is really about women in the military and it is a love story of sorts.

The entire film is basically the interaction between Stewart, a marine and a detainee in Guantanamo Bay. It focuses on the treatment of GB detainees and they are held captive for years with no criminal charges and at times no evidence of a crime being committed and no trial. In fact the movie explains why they are classified as detainees and not prisoners as the latter is given due process of the law. I think the film does a good job at humanizing both detainee and solider and not demonizing either in this situation.
