It's time to say goodnight. But what if a dog isn't sleepy? Intimate and accessible, this young dog story captures how a reluctant pup warms to bedtime in a way that children will recognize immediately--and find as reassuring as their own beds.

"But the dog isn't sleepy. Or only a little. Just a little." This has become an oft-quoted line in our house!
It may be bedtime, but this little dog isn't sleepy. (Sound like anyone you know?) He’d rather think back on all the fun parts of his day while listening to the comforting nighttime sounds of his house. Well... maybe he’s a little sleepy. But only a little. The pup cozies up in his full moon-shaped bed and dreams some sunshine-filled dreams, and before he knows it, a new day has begun. This is calming, repetitive language - think Margaret Wise Brown’s bedtime classic "Goodnight Moon" – and is perfect for reading just before bed, when you and your sleepy ones can talk about the best parts of the day and what fun is coming tomorrow.
