A favourite from Stefan's childhood.
Although I don't remember this book from my childhood, it quickly became one of my favourites to read to my daughter. So much so that I have been able to commit it to memory (except for one part in the middle).
"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where you go..."

On and on you will hike. And I know you'll hike far and face up to your problems whatever they are.

Add a CommentI thought that Oh, The Places You’ll Go!, by Dr. Seuss, was a very well written, engaging, and inspirational children’s book! It was uniquely insightful, as it gave a lot of good advice about growing up and dealing with the world, which you don’t typically see in children’s stories. I loved how Seuss presented his messages in a fun and engaging way, and was able to make something so deep and important both more easily comprehended and less overwhelming for young readers. I would definitely recommend this colourful, uplifting, and empowering story, as it is one that people of all ages need to hear and appreciate! @PenelopeScriptor of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

Dr. Seuss is ever so brilliant in his wording, and his graduation speech speaks to me in the most reassuring of ways. I recommend this book to anyone soon to be graduating from anything, just so they can see/hear/read for themselves the inspiration of the Dr.'s words.
I'd like this book more if I could unlink it from all the canned graduation speeches I've had to endure over the years.
Dr. Seuss shows readers of all ages that life is full of amazing adventures.
I love when my mom reads this book to us!
This book is great no matter how old you are! A Dr Seuss classic, this book speaks of life's balancing act and encourages readers to have a positive attitude.
I read this book to my 15 month old son every night, and secretly read it to myself when Im feeling down!
I know I am going places by Michael
This book is a great closure book to use in a human services practice (eg, child and youth care, social work, counselling). I used it in my child and youth care class as a closure activity with my classmates as we graduate. Excellent read for ALL ages. That's why I love Dr. Seuss.
