Now aNEW YORK TIMESBESTSELLER,Bernieis themust-have guidebook to the Bernie Sanders campaign -- and the uncompromising candidate behind it.Insightful, funny, and accessible, this biography-in-graphic-novel-form of the presidential candidate explains both his early life and political rise, but also shows the broader political shift that made it possible for a Jewish socialist to rally voters and become a real presidential contender. Political cartoonist andKennedy Award winnerTed Rallinterviewed Bernie Sanders at length for this book and delved deep into his background to create this one-of-a-kind biography. Sanders' upbringing in a struggling working-class family in a hardscrabble section of Brooklyn during the 1950s taught him that poverty is a disease, one that affects us all. Incredibly, the lessons he learned back then are revolutionizing the political process this year, marking the resurgence of political progressivism on the left at the same time as the two-party system seems to be on the way out. From McGovern's 1972 loss to Nixon to the Occupy movement, Rall shows readers exactly how the American public was primed to embrace a socialist calling for a political revolution. Twice the winner of the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award and a Pulitzer Prize finalist, Rallis a political cartoonist, opinion columnist, graphic novelist and occasional war correspondent whose work has appeared in hundreds of publications, including theNew York Times,Washington Post,Village Voice, andLos Angeles Times. He is the illustrator of the full-length comic inBillionaires & Ballot Bandits- How to Steal an Election in 9 Easy Steps, written by Greg Palast, and the author ofAfter We Kill You, We Will Welcome You Back as Honored Guestsamong many other

Quick history of leftism in the democratic party, and Bernie Sanders. It’s quite good, but it’s not like I learned anything.

Ever wonder where the democratic wing of the Democratic party went? Would you like to read about a consistent, principled leader? This is a quick pick-me-up for the current state of things.

Ted Rall's Snowden and trump Bios are much better. This mostly brings up the topic of a failing Democratic Party more than a life story of B. Sanders.

A lot of people, including the Democrats, think that Bernie Sanders is an outsider so how did he come this far? This short graphic-novel explains the story behind the man who actually will go down in history as one of the few reputable, steadfast and decent "for the people" politicians of our time.

I was surprised by how little this comic was about Bernie Sanders. The great idea that this books shares with us is the demise of the American left and it's banishment from the Democratic Party. It's a better book of American political history than a biography of Bernie Sanders.

Bernie Sanders, a candidate for the Democratic nomination in America's forth-coming Presidential elections is an interesting character and Ted Rall does much to enlighten us about his career through this publication of the collection of his column cartoons.I'm sure his ethnic origins are just as important in driving his ideals as Donald Trump's are. They are diametrically opposed with Bernie being of Polish/ Hungarian Jewish descent. The potted history of his predecessors gives an excellent perspective in a very palatable form. Much enjoyed.

[UPDATE: Ted Rall will be at Seattle's Town Hall this coming Thursday {02/04}, on Bernie Sanders and democratic party recent history - - a must attendance event!]
Another colossal achievement from Ted Rall, and both the lead-up in recent political history, and the part on Bernie are outstanding! [I'll even forgive Mr. Rall his mention of Krugman - - everyone cannot be expected to have a keen understand of finance, economics and what a farce Krugman is!]
Why ownership matters?
[Ted Rall was with the LA Times, but his series on the corruption at the LAPD caused the owner of the LA Times, the LAPD Union Pension Fund, to have him fired.]
