"Ed Brubaker's legendary run on Batman is finally collected into a definitive graphic novel series! The mind behind such critically acclaimed series Gotham Central, Catwoman and Captain America began his first mainstream superhero work on one of the greatest costumed crusaders of all-time: the Dark Knight. Mixing crime noir and mystery with superpowers, Brubaker's distinctive style helped build Batman into one of the most must-read titles of the 2000s. I've really enjoyed Brubaker's work on his Noir titles in the past. It took me three days to get through this graphic novel because it places more emphasis on the text (the NOVEL of the graphic novel) but every moment of it was enjoyable. I'm looking forward to more of his run.

About average for Batman stuff , although Brubaker's writing was good enough to keep me reading to the end . There was one prescient moment, where two workmen discuss the pros and cons of two billionaires, Bruce Wayne and U.S. president Lex Luthor – the LL booster sounds just like a Trvmp supporter . Anyway, I recommend this title for those who like Batman or particularly well-written superhero comics .
