I hate to say this but I don't like this book a lot of people say it's a good book but I don't think so

Eh... I wish I could say I liked this, but I can't. There's a bonus story (called, "Book Em, Dog Man" that is really gross and immature. Ruined the book for me, so I unfortunately can't recommend this.

Dog Man's first escapades have a big selection of jokes. From immature poop jokes to it's strange book chapter on book erasing, this Dog Man is for kids that love bathroom jokes!

If my math is right, between August 2016 and August 2019 roughly 1,700 pages of Dog Man comics were published. I think that's a wonderful data point. These books are hilarious, and so aggressively dumb they might as well be blank.

This book was incredibly fun to read! That's it. There is no better way to describe the first Dog Man story. There is just so much to enjoy from it. Sure it might be a silly kids's book, but that's why I liked it to. It did not take itself seriously, and just tried to be a fun romp. The art style is neat too. People might say they are too simple, and they might be right, but the simplicity is what can make children so happy. Kids who seen this book might draw pictures the same way, and when they see how simple the art style is, it could encourage them that they draw perfectly, and should never doubt themselves or their drawing capabilities. However, the small nitpick I have for this story, is the plot hole on how dissecting Greg the dog's head, and putting it Officer Knight's body saves both cops from dying. Wouldn't that kill both characters on default? But this still is a kids book, so accuracy is not 100% needed. In other words, if you want to start reading the Dog Man series, the first one is the best one to start with, and not just because it's the first, but because it's one of the best! 4.8/5. @BooksRUs of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

I'm not saying this series is a literary feat. It isn't. However, it gets my five year old to sit and read for an hour straight. I don't care how many fart jokes there are, that's a good thing. I help so many kids in the library with getting a hold of one of these books and the interest level is just through the roof. Anything that makes young readers that excited I am going to endorse.

George Beard and Harold Hutchins used to write comic books about Captain Underpants but they ended that series and started a new comic book. They have created a new superhero, Dog Man! Dog Man is part policeman and part dog. All the newspapers say that Dog Man is the greatest cop ever! This makes Petey the cat mad because he is a bad guy and he doesn’t want a smart policeman around to catch him doing bad things. It is up to Dog Man to save the city from all things evil!
