(*Famous movie-quote from "Cabin In The Cotton"*) - "I'd love to kiss you, but I just washed my hair."

Out of these 5 Pre-Code Hollywood wonders from yesteryear (1932-1934), depicting themes such as adultery, gangsterism, and extreme poverty - I thought that "Hell's Highway" was the real stand-out of them all.

Personally, I was endlessly thankful that (unlike the other 4 films) - This down'n'dirty prison picture didn't contain any glitz, glamour, or romance (not even amongst the guys) to detract the viewer away from the action.

All filmed in b&w - These 5 pictures featured many young, fresh-faced actors whose careers would soon sky-rocket into stardom in the coming years of post Pre-Code Hollywood.

These films all had running times that varied from 62 to 85 minutes.
