Great movie. Tom Hanks is brilliant, as usual. Really incredible story of "The Miracle on the Hudson." Do not watch right before going on an airplane, though!

Where do I begin? This is a truly wonderful movie and I was glad that they made it because I never really knew the story of how it all unfolded. Tom Hanks was amazing in this film and he was very believable as Sully. Definitely an emotional and inspiring movie!

Nothing spectacular.

The film is really quite jumpy when it comes to the timeline, switching ahead and back in time for long periods. It's distracting.

It's an hour and a half. It needn't have been any longer.

While the Miracle on the Hudson is an interesting story, it's not really covered in a way that's completely interesting and comprehensive to the viewer in this film.

Additionally, the real life Sully has stated that the national transportation agency weren't as difficult as the movie portrayed them as, and they completed a thorough and quick investigation without any hoopla.

It's really not too good, but earns three stars somehow.

In the age of the sensational and spectacular, the film “Sully” is restrained with an air of “all in a day’s work”, much like the real Sully. A film which treats a real event involving real people with respect and honour.

Great talent and an amazing story, but the directing was so emotionally spare it all seemed kind of superficial. Even the water landing was underplayed. The way the leader of the FTSB investigation went from sneering innuendo to appreciation and awe in a blink was practically comic book. As always, though, Tom Hanks gives a good performance that make this worth watching. But it constantly left me feeling like it was ALMOST a great movie.

Sully is a live drama movie directed by the legendary Clint Eastwood and was released in 2016. The plot of the movie is based around a real event that actually took place a couple of years ago. In 2009 Captain. Chesley Sully Sullenberger attempted to make a emergency landing in New York's Hudson River After the plane struck a flock of geese which damaged both plane engines. After the whole ordeal was over, all 155 of the passengers survived thanks to sully's efforts who is played by Tom Hanks. Despite his bravery and love from the people, a new investigation into the plane crash threatened to jeopardize his whole piloting career. The movie makes an excellent job in retelling the true story of what really happened in 2009. Even going as far as showing pictures of the real event and more from behind the scenes. It is a very remarkable true story that inspires confidence with its amazing performances and capable direction. It's an impressive achievement to showcase an event on the big screen and succeed flawlessly. Overall i would definitely give Sully a 4 out of 5.

I fast-forwarded this movie quite a lot of times. It was dreadfully slow and felt pointless to watch, so I shut it off prematurely.

They created a significant amount of drama out of the NTSB investigation & the interactions between Sully & his wife; she was portrayed as a bit of a drama queen. The Mayday & National Geographic Aircraft Investigation series have covered this event offering more insight into the details of the event, recovery of the plane, & NTSB investigation. This film offers more details on the personal experiences of the First Officer Jeff Skiles & Captain Chesley Sullenberger.

The compelling aspect of this movie is not the emergency water landing on the Hudson River, it is the NTSB investigation and how the pilot, played convincingly by Tom Hanks, struggles to defend his decision not to return to LaGuardia. Say what you will about Clint Eastwood, he knows how to make a middle-brow Hollywood motion picture.

Clint Eastwood deftly brings a 2 hour movie to life about a 5 minute incident. Only a superior director and stellar acting could tell the whole story behind the landing everyone thinks they know about...but don't. Worth a watch.

Many quotes in IMDb. Favorite is:
Elizabeth Davis: [At the NTSB investigation proceedings] First Officer Skiles, is there anything you'd like to add? Anything... you would have done differently if you... had to do it again?
Jeff Skiles: Yes. I would've done it in July.

This one is not in IMDb:

Here's a funny thing: I've delivered a million passengers over 40 years in the air... but in the end I'lm gonna be judged on 208 seconds.

Just once I'd like to get out of LaGuardia on time.
-Well you know the only way to get out of LaGuardia.
No, what's that?
-Flight from JFK.
