In his New York Times bestselling memoir, A Work in Progress, Connor Franta shared his journey from small-town Midwestern boy to full-fledged Internet sensation. Exploring his past with humor and astounding insight, Connor reminded his fans of why they first fell in love with him on YouTube--and revealed to newcomers how he relates to his millions of dedicated followers.

Now, two years later, Connor is ready to bring to light a side of himself he's rarely shown on or off camera. In this diary-like look at his life since A Work in Progress, Connor talks about his battles with clinical depression, social anxiety, self-love, and acceptance; his desire to maintain an authentic self in a world that values shares and likes over true connections; his struggles with love and loss; and his renewed efforts to be in the moment--with others and himself.

Told through short essays, letters to his past and future selves, poetry, and original photography, Note to Self is a raw, in-the-moment look at the fascinating interior life of a young creator turning inward in order to move forward.

This is so far my most favorite book I've ever read in my life. Connor's first book, "A Work in Progress" was a look at his life at a glance, and what brought him to where he is today. "Note to Self" is more about the feelings he experienced during what got him to where he is today. He covers topics such as anxiety, depression, sexuality, etc. Not only does he covers these topics, but also how to deal with them. I think he offers important insight into the mind of a young adult and is a good read for a philosophical person from high school years to an adult in their mid-thirties. Connor Franta is one of the few youtubers that can successfully write a book that isn't about becoming youtube famous. I'd give it a read if I were you...

Amazing self-taken photography all throughout the book. The poems are alright, there isn't as much figurative language as people would like, though they have well meaning.

You have control over your thoughts, thoughts do not have control over you. They’re like little dirt specks on the windshield of life that you simply need to wipe away. There will be more---they will keep coming, sometimes relentlessly---but you will wash those clean as well. You can and you will. We give dark thoughts our power. Why would we ever think that mere thoughts are stronger than us? They’re not. We can outwit them. Rule them. Survive them. They represent internal stormy weather… and all storms pass… You CAN beat this and live the life you know you deserve. We all have our struggles that we must face every day.
