When Communist North Korea invaded the South in 1950, they rapidly pushed back the southern army and their American allies into a bridgehead around the city of Pusan. General Douglas MacArthur commanded a bold and brilliant response, using naval power to make a landing at Inchon, then capture Seoul and threaten to cut off the North Korean forces in the south. The allies captured most of North Korea but then blundered in ignoring Chinese hints that a march to the Yalu River, the border with China, would be a march too far. This film details the moves and counter-moves that ended up in the armistice that still prevails today.
