Tim Robins is great in this movie about life in the 1950's. A lot of funny parts. I can remember growing up when they came out with the Houla-Hoop and I could not wait to get one.

Over the years the Coens have made some great movies, some real stinkers, and some enjoyable surprises. this movie rates in column number three. they have a great eye for looking inside things that other people never see and this is an awesome look inside big business, and totally tongue in cheek. The machinations of charting Robbins' character's rapid rise from mail room clerk to president, read chump, is a view of how those with money feel they can do anything they want. as the company worries about their stock shares the hula hoop comes to light almost as a saviour. and as usual their use of music in all the right places hits the spot. an easy watch with some surprises, and Paul Newman!

I had heard this was a great movie but I was disappointed. I love Tim Robbins but I didn't like his character in this film. It was too slapstick for me I guess.

The Hudsucker Proxy is a truly magnificent fantasy / parody / dark comedy / romance about the "evils" of corporate America during the '50s. Tim Robins is wonderful in his role as Norville Barnes, who rises, falls, and then re-rises to the Presidency of Hudsucker Industries. For me, Jennifer Jason Leigh stole the movie with her powerful character, a news woman with all of the good (and bad) acting persona of Katharine Hepburn. She had the voice and accent down perfectly. This film is a must-see for those who like to suspend reality for a while and get lost in the beauty of the acting and the ploty.

The Hudsucker Proxy was an excellent satire on the 1950s. Jennifer Jason Leigh was great. Her voice, demeanor, and overall presence totally had me. And Paul Newman did a fine job at comically portraying an absolutely terrible human being. The Hudsucker Proxy is a very underrated Coen Brothers film. Those who enjoy their movies, should check out this one.

A fun and fast paced story very well performed and complimented by beautiful sets.
