Philip K Dick immerses you in his worlds he does not explain them. This stays true to the original story while building on the drives present in earlier Nexus androids. This is a very visual story with you as the audience left to decide what some things mean. A story driven film special effect... Read More »

Was an OK movie not the best, and like most modern movies too many scenes with muffled speech and overpowering background music. Music?? more like noise, which makes it difficult to hear the dialogue. Yes, I'm old, but I have no problem with older movies. everything these days is to hype up the movie.

Personally found it beautiful and engrossing. I enjoyed Ryan Gosling's performance and the emotional depth of the movie. Easily the best sequel I've ever seen.

I'm not sure about this one. The cinemetography and special effects are pretty amazing. It's a dark world these characters inhabit but it is portrayed beautifully. The story, for me was a little ambiguous and cloudy. I suspect I should probably go back and view the original and give it another try after. What I really liked about it was the use of characters and actors from the first movie. Characters who had aged realistically. Ford and Olmos appear as if we had left the old story and came back to it 30 years later, seeing how they have adjusted to the changes intheir world. Nice touch.

This movie does not come close to the original, and for the most part I was bored.

It's such a long movie! Parts of it are good, but most of it feels like a big waste of time. Still, if you're a fan of long-drawn out movies or will be on a plane ride, I'd suggest you watch this and go to sleep.

Saw in theater...Would love to rate it, but as the library copy of the DVD is beat to hell..Goes to black/white 1/2 way thru and skips.

This is turning into a common problem with DVDs from library. Come on, people, treat it right! You would not tear pages from a book...

I have read the books many years ago, and I had just read them recently in anticipation of the movie, my expectations were very high and they nailed it! Blade Runner 2049 takes place in a future that most people dream of, and add action and emotions to a very robotic culture. Certain parts of the movie really changes your views on the main character and the way it ends leaves you wanting a sequel. Overall a very good movie, I would recommend to anyone that have read the books, or just wanting a fun movie to watch. 4.5/5 Stars. @The_Suspect of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

Better than the original. Multiple story lines running concurrent. Interesting love story between main character and hologram. Great visuals and acting.

Pages of quotes in IMDb including this title card introduction:

Replicants are bioengineered humans, designed by Tyrell Corporation for use off-world. Their enhanced strength made them ideal slave labor. After a series of violent rebellions, their manufacture became prohibited and Tyrell Corp went bankrupt.

The collapse of ecosystems in the mid 2020s led to the rise of industrialist Niander Wallace, whose mastery of synthetic farming averted famine. Wallace acquired the remains of Tyrell Corp and created a new line of replicants who obey. Many older model replicants - Nexus 8s with open-ended lifespans - survived. They are hunted down and 'retired'

Those that hunt them still go by the name... Blade Runner.
