worse ever, why do these old guys think they can still sing, give it up. Only ruins their legacies.
I'm glad I got this for free from the public library, that's all I can say. As a fan of Paul Simon, I knew this was an album of re-imagined works, but I was sorely disappointed to hear the path he took. Mournful, oddly off key, with Simon's voice quality failing throughout. Try it if you are a die-hard fan, but I'd recommend the free library access just in case you end up feeling let down like me.
What's happened Paul? The music aside (it's expected to be world class when you have your pick of world class musicians), I anticipated some gems in his lyrics... song after song in the enclosed insert- gibberish! Vague metaphors beyond his past elegance displayed from 60's-90's. All the vivid images his writings evoked during his partnership with Garfunkel and the solo work in the following decades seems to have depleted his creative consciousness. It's as if he immediately jotted down disjointed snippets of half forgotten dreams upon awakening. His "old friend Darkness" has apparently abandoned him.
