I really looked forward to watching this movie. I was disappointed when I did. It basically resets the storyline to zero and tried to work as an independent story, but it fails. Watch the original, or any of the sequels, except maybe "Season of the Witch." I'm still trying to figure out why that's a sequel. It isn't very good even as a stand-alone movie--just this one.

Disappointing doesn't begin to cover it. The original Halloween is such a classic, and for good reason- it's a well-paced, suspenseful, great horror film. This is not. It has everything that gives horror movies a bad reputation: terrible writing, unreasonably stupid characters, no real suspense, high body count without any rhyme or reason, and on and on. When I find myself spending the majority of a movie yelling at the screen (Turn on a light, you fool! Oh, so NOW you turn on ALL the lights- too late!) , I know it is not a good movie. Do yourself a favor and watch the original instead. Heck, even Halloween II or Halloween H20 were better than this.

I really wished John Carpenter directed this sequel but he only produced it. Golden opportunity to direct Jamie Curtis once more. It wasn't bad but turning Jamie Curtis into a survivalist nut job, eh whatever. Did the director steal that from Terminator 2?
Still, great to see Jamie Curtis as Laurie again. Scared babysitter to vengeful survivalist grandma.

Doesn't feel particularly fresh or new. Brings back Jamie Lee Curtis in the Laurie Strode role, now she's a survivalist and perceived as being mentally unbalanced and isn't Michael's sister. Basically it's Michael killing random people. The special feature "Legacy of Halloween" may be the best thing on the DVD.

The bloody reunion of Laurie and Michael, again, and with both Curtis and Castle returned to their respective roles. The attraction was the high body counts that were set up by questionable actions/decisions made by those alive AND dead with an impossible to kill bogeyman born to stalk-and-slash on the loose in town. The things you don't see before and the little sounds after the end credits hint of another sequel to come.

Watchable slasher flick but don't expect much.

Halloween 2 or 3? Admittedly, I don’t follow this franchise. However, from what I can tell, this iteration falls more in line with the original movie. As such, it’s a nice bow (or is it?) to the hallowed series. Aside from our heroine, there’s also depth in the supporting cast that is quite refreshing. Even the antagonist has shown sparks of intelligence (reading & driving?) that I didn’t know he was capable of. The movie itself was excellent. Taut story-telling, a few unexpected twists/turns and almost a subdued approach to the violence/gore that makes this a well-rounded movie. For gore-hounds, there’s definitely blood being spilled, but in a purposeful manner that pushes the script forward. No gratuitous violence, just because. Okay, maybe a scene or two for old time’s sake. For hardcore horror fans, this may not be what you’re looking for, and I completely understand. With regards to horror standards, certain boxes aren’t checked off. However, I really enjoyed this offering as a whole. Highly recommended.

TL:DR – Sarah Conner meets Michael Myers

The second best movie in the Halloween franchise. And considering how great Halloween II and III are, as well as the timeless original, that's saying something.

I like Jamie Lee Curtis and honestly there is no a better cult movie such Halloween (#1). But this sequel was little let down. Not scary at all, no suspense, very predictable (of course you guess it - the ending invading for another sequel with the new generation - daughter and granddaughter of Laurie). Good watching for Halloween right before going trick or treating :) gets you in the mood.
