This film is based upon a work by the great suspense author Cornell Woolrich and it stars Robert Cummings and Peter Lorre. While it may seem like a film noir, it is not quite that at all. It is more like a bad dream or a psychotic episode, but it does have all the dark shadows, troubles, and danger usually found in film noir. Maybe I just dreamed that I saw this film.

It was O.K for a home TV movie. I was entertained and interesting. But it was NOT worth the long library wait or the price to rent from a Red Box. "I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.”

The technical quality of this film noir DVD is not the greatest. Robert Cummings stars as a young man who's down on his luck. He finds a wallet filled with money and returns it to its owner, who lives on a posh Florida estate. The owner, a businessman who appears to have shady connections, invites Cummings to work as his chauffeur. Cummings ends up driving his boss's unhappy wife, and helps her plan an escape to Havanna. Peter Lorre stars as the sidekick of the gangster in one of his creepiest performances.
